Modern Townhome Development in Phoenix

Located in Phoenix, Arizona, Uptown Row is a townhome development situated between a historic residential area and a busy industrial road, which happens to be less than 500 feet from a light rail station. The project was designed by The Ranch Mine to feel like single-family homes while actually being multi-family units in a city that is slowly embracing public transportation.

The development houses 10-units, five in each building, where each building’s width is close to the same size as the historic homes to the east, helping them fit within the area.

A pedestrian walkway surrounded by desert-friendly plants connects the units. A short blocked wall defines outdoor space for each residence while allowing the neighbors to socialize if they desire. The exterior incorporates three materials to help it fit within the neighborhood and to give it a modern look – stucco, rusted steel, and adobe-inspired face brick.

Coe-Ten steel window boxes protrude from the metal exterior offering extra shade from the sun on the front facing windows.

Each unit was built with 10 foot ceilings which help to visually enlarge the interiors.

Sliding glass doors lead to private courtyards while allowing daylight to flood the space.

The third floor acts as a flex space that opens out to a roof deck with a built-in grill, giving the residents the perfect indoor/outdoor living space.
