1. Reykjavik, Iceland
Reykjavik, Iceland is my favorite city on the planet. There are so many unforgettable things about it unlike anything else in the world: row houses and roofs covered in super bold colors, from kelly green and electric blue to sunshine yellow and fire engine red; gorgeous black and white murals painted along the sides of buildings—and then the humpback whales breaching in the water. There’s really no reason to ever think about locking your doors.

2. Rose Bowl Flea Market
My favorite place to shop is the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena, CA. Although I’ve relocated from the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles back to Atlanta, I still have all of my furniture from my home in LA. Pretty much the entire living room was sourced on Saturday mornings between 6:30am and 9am.

3. Chris Burkard’s Instagram
Adventure photographer Chris Burkard’s Instagram feed is something I cannot live without. I even have alerts on my phone that tell me when Chris has posted a new image. The reason I have become such a globetrotter myself (I travel about 8 months of the year all over the planet) has to do with how brilliantly he captures far away places most people would never consider going because they’re not warm and all about the beach. He goes to Greenland and Iceland and Finland and Russia and the Faroe Islands and discovers the most stunning scenery that doesn’t even seem like it could exist on this planet.

4. Caleb Anderson
The gorgeous interior design work of Caleb Anderson with New York City-based design firm Drake + Anderson really inspires me. Caleb is a total classicist but he puts things together in this remarkably pared-back and unexpected manner, which is a perfect testament to the art of expert editing. A lot of times I look at Caleb’s projects and feel I learn a lot from them.

5. Greenland
As an interior designer, I’m constantly intrigued by the arctic island country of Greenland. It’s nearly uninhabitable due to its super rough terrain, jagged, rocky surfaces and the fact that 80% of its land is covered by an ice sheet. Yet, through smart design, Greenlanders inhabit it by setting up flat-packed kit houses on stilts that have formed small fishing villages coast to coast. And to make things cheery during the harsh gray winters, they’ve painted the houses in super bright primary colors, which also identifies the professions of each homeowner, many being ecologists, hunters or educators.
