Melodicware: Objects that Create an Auditory Experience

Argentinian-born, Milan-based designer Agustina Bottoni created a collection of sculptural objects that allow passersby to have an auditory experience. Melodicware consists of a series of hanging sculptures that are embellished with brass tubes that encourage one to touch for sounds to be released.

Along with the tubes, which are cut precisely to play selected musical notes, the pieces are finished with long clusters of string that also offer an additional tactile experience. While existing as sculptural works within a space, the pieces at any time can become musical instruments when touched to offer moments of joy.
