Gencork Debuts Cork Furniture and Surfaces by DIGITALAB

Portuguese brand Gencork explores the many uses of 100% natural and sustainable cork through advanced technological processes to create Instagram-worthy wall surfaces and and lighting. The cork advocates have been working with DIGITALAB, an architecture and design studio founded by Ana Fonseca and Brimet Silva, and they presented a collection of their work at the London Design Fair as part of Associative Design’s Best of Portugal booth.

The DIGITALAB duo created seating, tables, lighting, and wall surfaces that will transform your idea of what can be done with cork. The furniture merges cork with wood in unexpected ways for a series of modern yet playful furniture. Their cork wall surfaces will no doubt make you want to reach out and touch just to confirm they’re not made of fabric or some other material.
