Ziihome Releases Kasa Lamp, Its First Light Designed by Yen-Hao, Chu

Taiwan-born Yen-Hao, Chu has landed at Chinese brand Ziihome as their in-house designer after earning her master’s degree from ECAL, Switzerland in 2017. Kasa is her first product release and it happens to be the brand’s first foray into lighting. The pendant lamps were inspired by ‘kasa,’ traditional Chinese rain hats, which you’ll instantly see when you look at its design.

The hats have wide brims to protect one’s head during harsh weather which are referenced in the lamp’s design with its slightly domed solid wood shades. The smooth wooden shades are cut using CNC machines and paired with copper anodized steel components for sleek, sophisticated results.

The Kasa lamps are available for purchase here.
