The Student Hotel: A Co-Living and Co-Working Concept by Masquespacio

Valencia-based creative agency Masquespacio were hired by Dutch hotel group, The Student Hotel, to bring their signature colorful aesthetic to a unique project in Barcelona. The Student Hotel Barcelona is a co-living/co-working hybrid and they set out to launch two student-only “campuses” in the Marina and Poble Sec areas of the city and brought on Masquespacio to design the communal spaces of each.

The Marina Campus resides in four 21,000-square-meter buildings that house 500 rooms, along with tons of communal areas, like quiet study rooms, lounge spaces, gaming zones, swimming pools, seating areas, etc., for the students residing there to enjoy.

Doing what they do best, Masquespacio used local materials and selected a bold color palette. The vibrant design merges many styles, including Memphis, industrial, 70s vintage, among others, that result in an eclectic and welcoming feel that will no doubt spark creativity.
