The Pink Zebra: An Eye-Popping Restaurant/Bar Inspired by the Work of Wes Anderson

If Design Milk could relocate and setup shop in a restaurant/bar, I’m pretty sure it would be this one located in Kanpur, India. Decked out in black and white stripes and bubble gum pink, The Pink Zebra, aka Feast India Co., is bound to catch everyone’s eye from a distance, thanks to Renesa Architecture Design Interiors Studio.

Their thought, “How about we dip a zebra into a deep pink sea?”, seems completely appropriate once you take a look around. The idea began with a nod to the surreal sets of Wes Anderson, whose films the clients love. The stripes go every which way, along with pink slats on the ceiling that let lines of natural light shine through for added dramatic effect.

The Pink Zebra sits atop one of the city’s oldest buildings, merging a bit of the old and the new with a playful twist.
