A Family House in Druskininkai Inspired by Pine Cones

Designed by 2XJ architects for a young family, the House in Druskininkai, Lithuania, is located in the woodlands by the Nemunas river where the architecture takes inspiration from pine cones. The interior layout is separated into two sections – one for relaxing and the other for living.

The main living area features the kitchen, dining room, and living room which feels spacious thanks to the double-height ceiling. The upper wall and ceiling surfaces are clad in wood shingles to resemble a pine cone, bringing a bit of nature indoors.

Bold color choices show up throughout, including in the custom artwork done by Dominykas Gutauskas and Paulius Makauskas.
