Yolk: A Playful Approach to the Traditional Rocking Chair by Daghum Kang

South Korea-born, Los-Angeles-based Jieun Kang, also referred to as Daghum Kang, gave the traditional rocking chair a modern revamp with a rounded base and a bold color. Yolk, named after the egg center’s sunny yellow color, is a low, cushy chair that not only rocks back and forth, it swivels from side to side for additional playfulness.

A solid foam base is upholstered in bright yellow fabric and sits upon a curved plywood base that allows for continuous movement in any direction – unlike rigid wooden rocking chairs that only go back and forth.

A simple handle on the back allows for easy movement when you need a seat in another location.
