Monica Förster Design Studio Collaborates with Marrakech Design on Two Tile Collections

Monica Förster Design Studio collaborated with Swedish tile company Marrakech Design on two encaustic cement tile collections, one inspired by the colors of Sweden and the other by arches found in art nouveau architecture.

The Four Elements series features a Noorland (the northernmost part of Sweden) inspired color scheme – forest green, sky blue, pitch black, and brick red – with modern gradient, watercolor-like patterns that bring together the past and the future, as well as nature and the city.

Breaking The Wave explores a unique shape not seen in tiles, which was inspired by arches typically found in art nouveau architecture. When laid out, the tile lines form a hypnotic wave, transforming a traditional style into a contemporary pattern.
