The PURO Krakow Kazimierz: A Hotel with All the Design You Wish Was in Your Own Home

In Kraków, Poland, a growing creative reawakening has turned the old Jewish quarter of Kazimierz into a thriving hub for creativity, community and culture. So much so that lifestyle hospitality brand PURO Hotels decided it needs to plant its fifth property here to meet the needs of the creatives, design aficionados and art lovers – local and abroad – who are looking for a contemporary experience to complement the town’s rich history. At the PURO Kraków Kazimierz designed by ASW Architects and Conran & Partners, you’ll be completely surrounded by installations, street art, and modern design.

Throughout the hotel’s 228 rooms, suites, and common areas, an easy game of design-spotting will lead you to find that you’re surrounded by a myriad of design brands. Furniture by Carl Hansen & Son, Fritz Hansen, ByLassen, Mater, Gubi, Moroso, Baxter, Fogia, and Kettal line the spaces alongside fixtures by &Tradition and hand-knotted rugs by Golran 1898.

For artwork, Kraków street artist Nawer painted a futuristic graffiti mural on the reception wall, visual artist Mateusz Szczypiński contributed two modernist cityscape collages, and Spanish artist Javier Martin designed a light installation in his signature neon style to greet guests. Five Polish illustrators also created three different artworks inspired by Kazimierz that can be found hanging on the walls of the guest rooms.

Looking after its guests’ wellness and health, PURO created its own PRISMA Spa so that guests can book facials, massages and aromatherapy treatments with products from Alba1913, one of Poland’s oldest holistic health and beauty brands, to rejuvenate mind and body.

The hotel also offers an ever-changing schedule of activities including a morning run club, evening pilates, and cocktail-making master classes.

There are two eateries on-site: the Halicka Eatery&Bar, which serves locally-sourced Polish cuisine with a gastronomic spin, and the MAK Bread&Coffee, which prepares fresh bread and sweet treats worth waking up early for.
