What’s New for SS19 from Northern

Northern, formerly known as Northern Lighting, continues to hit the nail on the head when it comes to laidback luxury and cutting-edge cool furniture. Last month they introduced some new pieces for 2019, adding features that extend the practicality the brand is known for even further.

The Daybe sofa balances function and practicality with comfort and style with its clean lines, proportions, details, and construction. It would make for a great cornerstone to a room’s interior design, and this year Northern has added an optional pair of smooth metal armrests. Daybe transforms into a sleek daybed in one motion for guests or lazy afternoons and is available in a variety of fabrics and colors.

If you find yourself drawn towards traditional Japanese wood craftsmanship you’re going to love the Oaki dining chair. This year’s update to the solid oak piece is the availability of a rich black option that highlights its woodgrain. The chair’s joints are concealed, adding to an already sleek appearance that includes legs that are angled backwards from the seat.

The Hifive modular system is truly versatile with components that include an open display, a cabinet unit with scrolling door, and an optional metal base. Beyond that there are also a variety of wooden tops that have the ability to create a single surface across multiple Hifive units. How the elements come together to suit your needs is entirely up to you! It’s available in three finishes, and this season has been updated with longer versions as well as a set of longer legs.

The newly introduced Oblong two-seater sofa complements the Oblong lounge chair that Northern launched last year, both get their names from the two upholstered oblong shapes that form the seat and back of each. Bold shapes paired with an open base allows light to shine through, making this a great piece for smaller spaces.
