Meteo Adds Three Functional Adaptations to Its Umbrella Base

If you plan on spending lots of time outdoors in the shade this summer, you’re going to want to have a look at the ingenuity of Meteo. As any owner of a patio set can attest, the base of the umbrella is usually just as cumbersome as it is useful, so why not make it better?

Meteo is a collaboration between Kettal and Konstantin Grcic that launched in 2018, and they’ve just added three functional adaptations to the umbrella’s base – a sofa/daybed, a table, and a planter. Each of the additions brings a measure of usefulness to a design element that is largely overlooked. As we all continue to look for more protection from sunlight and the effects its rays can have on our health, Meteo makes a lot of sense.
