CW&T Wants You to Download Any or All of Their 100 Lamp Designs For Free

The first half of New York art and design practice CW&T’s (Che-Wei Wang and Taylor Levy) Kickstarter story isn’t all too unique. In early 2017 they were able to turn ideation into reality, successfully crowdfunding a project to offer 100 unique 3D-printed pendant lamp designs.

Where CW&T story takes a notable detour is with their decision to make each of these 100 designs fall under the license of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. Simply put, this means anyone is free to download and 3D print one or all 100 hundred designs to their heart’s content.

If you own a 3D printer with a build area of about 220x220mm, you can download any of their STL files to print your very own Dropped Pendant Light (CW&T recommends using 2700K LED bulbs with your lamp) from the comfort of your own home or studio.

Those without the service of a 3D printer can still order any of the 100 lamp designs fully assembled, each shipping with its own bright 12′ yellow cord, plug, lamp socket, and an LED bulb to complete the package – a win-win situation for the designers and 3D public alike.
