Say Hello to the Fred Lounge Chair by Jaime Hayon for Fritz Hansen

Jaime Hayon and Fritz Hansen have collaborated yet again, this time on a chair named Fred – meaning peaceful in Danish – that offers comfort and good vibes in any setting. A perfect balance between Scandinavian and Spanish design, Fred is all about laid back elegance with a modern, playful aesthetic.

Drawing inspiration from pelicans’ broad wings, curved bodies, and distinctive bills, the resulting open, low silhouette is elegant from every angle. Fred’s decorative joints with softly rounded edges have been embossed by hand, while wide and flat armrests and a curved backrest support the body.

“Comfort was a key factor, as was the combination of the best of Danish design craftsmanship and modern technology,” says Jaime Hayon. “It’s more than just a chair; it is expressive, light and comfortable, bringing life to a wide range of spaces.”
