Friday Five with Breegan Jane

Southern California native Breegan Jane is a mother and entrepreneur inspiring, empowering, and advocating for women worldwide. With roles such as interior designer, real estate developer, philanthropist, and lifestyle expert, her number one title is mother to her two beautiful sons. Breegan’s creative efforts have also created the Mom Life Yo radio show and podcast, which ran for nearly 100 episodes before calling it a day at the end of 2018. Currently she can be found working on projects from celebrity and commercial properties to restaurants and large-scale remodels. She also leaves time in her schedule to partner with World Vision to help women and children in Africa through online, radio, and TV appearances; recently helping to fund a new girls dormitory and secondary school in Kenya. As a single mother herself, she understands the importance of empowering motherhood in all its forms through interdependence, unity, and philanthropy. Today Breegan is popping in to share five things she loves with us for Friday Five!

1. The Beach
I’m a southern California native. No matter how far I travel in my lifetime, I’m certain I’ll always live on or near a coastline. I am at my happiest when I’m in close proximity to a beach or ocean – there’s something about the smell of the salt water, the feel of water and sand against my skin, and the sound of never-ending waves crashing that re-centers my spirit. My favorite color is teal, and that’s largely inspired by the color of the sea. The beach brings me joy and serenity, it is where I go when I need to renew myself mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

2. My Bed
My bedroom is my oasis, my hiding place, my sanctuary. My career keeps me surrounded by people all day, every day. At the end of the evening, after everyone else is taken care of, my bed greets me with a huge dose of tranquility. It’s a lush and luxe place to unwind and relax, and everything about its design feels tailored to my personal style. If I’m having a challenging day, thoughts of my bed at the end of the finish line are one of the things I push towards. Whether it’s 10pm or 3am, the last sensations I look forward to at the end of the day are my pillows massaging my head and my comforter embracing my body.

3. Kaftans
If you run into me around town, I’ll probably be wearing a colorful, bright Asa kaftan. I call them my fancy outside pajamas and I adore them! Kaftans are an easy choice because they’re one piece and comfortable – I can dress them up with a pair of heels on the red carpet or I can dress them down with a pair of Vans. Plus, they’re all extremely eye-catching! I tend to choose kaftans that are embellished with beautiful patterns and fabrics. With kaftans I get to express my artistic personality and creativity while wearing this relaxed and convenient wardrobe staple.

4. Doc Martens
I’ve been wearing Doc Martens since I was a little girl, but they’re even better now! I spend a lot of days on construction sites, and I need the protection Doc Martens offer when I move around projects that are in-progress. These boots are not only cute and stylish, but they’re also very versatile. With a booked schedule like mine, I need shoes that can handle the worksite by day and the casual meal with friends or business constituents by night.

5. My Kids
Others may try to claim the title, but my two sons are hands down the coolest kids in California. They challenge me daily (in a good way) and they keep me feeling young. They’re my dance and DJ partners, and I absolutely love having them as my dates to check out the Aquarium of the Pacific, Griffith Park, or the latest Disney movie. Kensi and Kingsley are as sweet and lovable as they are energetic and rambunctious! These little titans of love will always be my greatest creations.
