The Hans Olsen Swing Rocking Chair Is Reborn

Some things are unequivocally timeless, such as Danish architect Hans Olsen’s effortless woven-backed Swing Rocking Chair. First designed in 1956 and manufactured by Brdr. Juul Kristensen, the simple yet sophisticated design has been relaunched by Warm Nordic and is ready to grace any home and decor style. With its airy hand-woven cane back and clean wooden frame, the Swing Rocking Chair appears to weigh almost nothing at all.

Available in leather or sustainable Kvadrat Re-wool fabric, the details such as a headrest and seat cushion add an extra layer of comfort and aesthetic, while the frame comes in solid oak or teak-oiled oak. This piece truly demonstrates 1950s furniture design at its best, which Olsen was an expert in, through the trio of comfort, functionality, and aesthetics.
