The Fudge Chair Celebrates Design’s Imperfection

There’s plenty of things to be said about unintentional design imperfections, one being that they’re welcome. Faye Toogood’s playful Fudge armchair celebrates the process, much like some of her other furniture pieces. Fudge’s solid form sits on stout legs for a satisfyingly chunky feel, featuring subtle asymmetries and soft lines that give it an almost childlike quality. The armchair started out by being crafted in clay before being reproduced at full size in wood, then cast in fiberglass by master artisans. After that, Fudge receives a hand-sanded satin-matte finish in colors that range from subtle cream and charcoal to pastel mallow and malachite green.
