Only Good Things’ Spring Collection Playfully Bends Tradition

Only Good Things’ Spring Collection playfully bends tradition – literally. Steam bent wood tables, rounded outdoor chairs and curvy stools effortlessly bring joy to any residential space they’re placed in. As the sister company of commercial furnishings manufacturer Grand Rapids Chair Co., Only Good Things brings the durability of contract craftsmanship into homes, bringing not only great design but pieces that are made to last.

The Spring Collection was designed in collaboration with creatives from Michigan to Australia, shining a light on emerging talent and creating a connection to the global design scene. The Sir Burly Stool, Hula Outdoor Chair, Sigsbee Chair, Lewis Coffee and Side Table are a playful representation of what Only Good Things has to offer.

“Michigan is North America’s original furniture design capital, so we were honored to spotlight the Midwestern design community and join forces with global talent for this collection,” says Only Good Things’ Creative Director, Dean Jeffery. “Combined with the commercial craftsmanship of Grand Rapids Chair Co., this collection offers diverse design pieces with enduring quality.”

Sir Burly Stool

Let’s introduce you to the five piece family.

Inspired by bulky playground structures, the Sir Burly Stool is a whimsical interpretation of the traditional bar stool. Designed by Australian studio, Dowel Jones, the stool balances simplicity and irreverence with exaggerated two-inch steel tubes and a solid white oak seat. Available in both bar- and counter-height variations, Sir Burly is a striking seating option for dining spaces.

Imagined by Grand Rapids-based Filter Studio, Sigsbee is a refreshing take on mid-century modern seating. With a European beech frame that gently contours the body and three wood stains, the minimalist chair is a subdued design statement. Sigsbee is also available with upholstered seats and back cushions, secured with a nylon strap and brass buckles. Fully upholstered models come in light tan or dark gray fabrics with olive green or black straps, buckles are available in matte black or brass.

Lewis Coffee and Side Tables

Noted for its steam bent wooden dowels, the Lewis table features a curvaceous silhouette inspired by woven baskets in the Italian countryside. Available in two sizes—15-inch coffee tables and 18-inch side tables—the pieces stand out on their own or in a cluster. Offered in four natural colorways: white, black, natural and cocoa, the tables are ideal for mixing and matching.

Thought up by Paul James, a Minneapolis-based designer and one-third of the design studio, Prohject, the Hula chair is a great addition to design-savvy patios, decks and balconies. Made with a rounded, powder-coated, perforated steel frame, Hula is an outdoor seating option with commercial-grade durability. It’s available in five colors, including honey yellow, olive green and dusty blue.
