Man of Parts Is a Way of Living, Not a Single Aesthetic

Founded by Stephan Weishaupt, who is also co-founder of contemporary design store Avenue Road, Man of Parts features a way of living rather than a singular aesthetic. The home furnishings brand hopes to embody the traveler who is interested in unique finds, much like Weishaupt himself. In order to reflect the lives of the globally-minded people he’s come across in his own travels, Weishaupt has chosen collaborators that are open about design. Leading designers such as Yabu Pushelberg, Philippe Malouin and Sebastian Herkner have contributed to Man of Parts’ collection that’s manufactured with boutique makers throughout Europe. Here are just a few pieces that stood out to us.

Via del Corso Chair

Yabu Pushelberg’s Via del Corso lounge chair takes its name and inspiration from the Piazza Venezia in Rome, with its three-sided roundabout and churches. Its grounded and impressive profile finds balance through soft curves and a lightness of balance.

Cord Chair

Integrating the concepts of reduced materials and upcycling far ahead of his time, the Cord Chair was conceived in 1953 by Jacques Guillon. The original used actual parachute cord that was leftover from the war! Produced exclusively by Man of Parts in Italy, these editions have the approval of the Guillon family.

Savignyplatz Table + Cord Chairs

In Berlin a Savignyplatz – town square – is dedicated to German jurist Friedrich Carl von Savigny and his call for more freedom and self-determination in the teaching of law. Here, designer Sebastian Herkner’s dining table is intended for civil conversation and delicious dining.
