Le Tapis Nomade Is a Geometric Rug That Transcends Time + Location

Los Angeles-based furniture brand Atelier de Troupe and Milanese rug brand cc-tapis have collaborated on a singular piece of art, a geometric rug named Le Tapis Nomade. Produced in Nepal, the new rug is inspired by the nomadic element of Berber carpets and the art direction of The Passenger, a 1975 film by Michelangelo Antonioni. Like the traveling Berber people, the rug was designed to also travel – through time and locale. A timeless design of geometric shapes and organic lines, Le Tapis Nomade was made for all interior spaces.

To photograph the rug for its release, Atelier de Troupe and cc-tapis chose a very specific location, the “Casa a tre cilindri,” a mid-century Milanese architectural icon designed by Bruno Mangiarotti and Angelo Morassutti. Other pieces by Atelier de Troupe were filmed in situ alongside the rug, including the iconic Coda lounge chair and Shell vase from the latest Château collection.
