The Sawdust Low Table Uses a Creative New Carving Medium

Casey McCafferty’s Sawdust Series re-uses the sawdust created while sculpting and carving. To build this new medium, he combines sawdust, polymer, a clay mixture, and solid wood into forms that can be used to make even more works. Known for his vast respect of materials, this is McCafferty’s way to recycle and look toward the future. The Sawdust Low Table is the newest addition to the Sawdust Series. The abstract piece of furniture showcases both the traditional techniques and the experimentation that brought it to life. McCafferty looks to his surroundings to create, and the end result here is stunning.
