The Embrace Sideboard Is More Than Nice Curves

At first glance it’s obvious the Embrace sideboard, designed by Teixeira Design Studio, is beautiful. What might not be so obvious is the amount of thought that went into every aspect of the piece to make it incredibly functional. Named for the curved piece of plywood that “hugs” the unit, the design process began with the leg joint. The goal was to create curved legs that are interesting yet simultaneously contrasting. What followed was the creation of a sideboard that’s minimal in style, but with plenty of smart solutions for storage and cable management. Embrace features two side drawers with vertical openings, a middle drawer, and an open shelf for your organizational needs. The sideboard’s joints, curves, and overlapping layers come together in a gorgeous piece of furniture that can go to work in an entryway or as a media unit.
