The Hilltop House Cleverly Hides a Garage Underneath Grassy Slopes

Polish design firm mode:lina is back with another project outfitted with their unique, signature details. Located in a residential community in Poznań, Poland, the Hilltop House combines everything the homeowners love – mountains, winter activities, automobiles, and creative architecture. The result is a modern barn with a hidden garage in a hill all surrounded by trees.

To the side of the pitched roof structure is an attached garage to house the family’s cars. The concrete garage can be seen peeking out from under a hillside which is covered in greenery and flowers. The architects built the hill to disguise the garage, the technical components of the house, and an office.

On top of the hill, a smaller pitched roof structure houses the primary bedroom with direct access to the grassy slopes.

On the outside, the team juxtaposed natural materials, like wood and concrete, with dark metal sheeting and large glass panes. They come together perfectly for a visually intriguing exterior.

Inside, the main living space benefits from a double-height ceiling and a wall of windows for an open feel. A similar color palette from the outside continues in with concrete floors, black furnishings, and wooden details.
