A Bent Plywood Stool Held Together with Strong Magnets

Taipei-based designer Yu-Hao Shen began his stool design by experimenting with bending plywood. The result is the N-S Stool that’s made up of three plywood components that stay together with strong magnets.

The stool comprises three elements that are bent in the exact same way so they fit together to form a stool. Magnets are placed between the layers of veneer to ensure the stool stays in place when someone goes to sit. By hiding the magnets, the stool gets a seamless look that’s easy to assemble and disassemble when needed.
