A Centuries-Old Apartment in Prague Updated for the Future

Malfinio renovated an apartment in a turn of the 19th century building for a young couple with children in Prague, Czech Republic. The EO7 Apartment renovation remains true to the building’s character while making it contemporary for a modern family. A new layout led to larger rooms, particularly in the main living space where a wall was removed. Another aspect of the new design saw to it that the materials and color palette flowed between spaces and created a cohesive look throughout.

A muted color scheme in the central space is paired with a curated selection of furniture, including a Ligne Roset Togo sofa and ottoman, a Roly Poly chair from Toogood Furniture, and a Stella coffee table by Jiří Krejčík. The clean lines continue on the feature wall with the white and mirror bookshelf.

At one end of the apartment is the primary bedroom with an upholstered floating bed resting in front of an open wood shelf. The shelf acts as a divider to make room for a home office.
