A Los Angeles Home Gets a Dramatic Scandinavian-Inspired Transformation

The before images speak for themselves (see the end). What was once a decrepit, old home built in the 1940s gets a complete gut renovation and transformation by design duo Cynthia and Dino Corella, the homeowners of the new Scandinavian-inspired bungalow. Located in the Baldwin Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, the modern home skews towards a Scandinavian aesthetic with its clean lines and natural material palette.

The home has several key features, including vaulted beamed ceilings, whitewashed oak flooring, custom cabinetry, limestone kitchen counters in the chef’s kitchen, and an oversized primary suite.

The designers opted for natural wood, metallic hardware, and modern furnishings and fixtures to complete the home.

An additional cedar-clad 365-square-foot ADU was added to the 2,796-square-foot home, complete with a kitchenette and three-quarters bathroom.
