A Marble and Brass Chair That Looks as If It’s Melting

New York City-based Bower gives nod to an ancient Egyptian chair in their latest design created for The Future Perfect’s THE CHAIR exhibition. The minimalist, one-of-a-kind Melt Chair combines Imperial Green marble and antique brass in unexpected ways that will have you taking a second look. The slab of marble forms over the brass structure looking as if it’s melting and sliding down the back into a puddle on the floor. Despite its rigid nature, the marble appears fluid with unlikely curves that suggest another material. The result is not only functional, but a sculptural piece of art.
