Alpina: A Furniture Collection That Wants to Relate

Consisting of a table, chair, desk, and a multipurpose shelf, the Alpina Collection #01 Series is the first round of designs from the brand-new, Buenos Aires-based design studio, RIES. The four pieces were designed to relate to the spaces they’re in with their slim, angular lines, “not as volumes but rather as a set of vectors and planes in the air.”

The pieces are constructed out of solid square steel rods that are connected in such a way that geometric shapes are formed in the negative spaces. To finish the pieces off, other materials, like polished copper, plywood, aqua green Formic, and leather were used.
