Opening later this year, Zoku is a brand-new, hotel concept for traveling professionals that blends a home/office hybrid for extended stays while offering all the amenities of a hotel, plus being located in a thriving neighborhood. Zoku brought in concrete to help realize the idea of giving like-minded people a relaxed place to live, work, and socialize during their stay in Amsterdam.
It’s definitely not your average hotel room, or even a typical extended stay hotel room. It’s more of a cleverly designed micro-apartment, or as they dub it, the “Zoku Loft”, that manages to give the feeling of spaciousness while packing in a ton of functionality. Notice how the staircase disappears into the cabinetry? You simply pull it out when it’s time to go to bed.
The flexible interior focuses on the living and working space, as opposed to the sleeping quarters, making the four-person table a central element that can be used for work, eating, or relaxing.
Behind the table is the kitchen which offers everything you need, including equipment by Siemens – induction cooker, a sink, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, and coffee maker.
The retractable stairs lead to a king-size bed which is hidden behind the slatted folding doors. Underneath the bed is the work area that’s surrounded by storage.
A two-seater sofa from Muuto lets the guest relax or have a place for company to sit.
You can even get a workout in with the hanging rings.
