ART & GUILE Set to Unveil Debut Collection at ICFF 2017

Artists Kate Hopkins (a painter and printmaker) and Christopher Boynton (a 3D modeler and former video artist) joined forces in 2016 to found ART & GUILE, a design studio where they could combine their individual talents to create a series of modern lighting, furniture, and objects. The New York-based duo are set to debut their inaugural collection of work at this year’s ICFF and it includes noteworthy pieces with clever details and memorable silhouettes.

The Nice Hoop Light comprises a curved brass hoop that holds a cylinder of LED light, with an overall configurable composition as its angle can be adjusted.

The Gentle Disk Light features two pine wood disks, a large reflector and a small emitter, that are suspended from a brass arc. The hang point and reflector angle are both adjustable to allow light in any direction while also adjusting the look of the piece.

I Dreamed I Could Waltz Light is made of three handmade porcelain shades that hang from two brass hoops, which form an alluring composition. The shades are textured and detailed with brass gilding to match the hardware.

The circular D25 Sconce is made of solid maple that’s outfitted with two angled lines and a band that hides the light.

All Together Now Side Table/Stool pulls double duty as either a table or stool. Its geometric top and bottom surfaces are cut so that they can be grouped together to form a larger table.

And lastly, the Heron’s River Mirror has a hexagonal, oil-finished walnut frame with a gilded interior rim that draws the eye in, much like looking through a window.
