Twin Speaks: BeoPlay x David Lynch Wireless Speakers

Bang & Olufsen’s latest tastefully tinted Bronze Collection might be the safer aesthetic bet, but for anyone with a more avant garde streak, these speakers wrapped in the imagery by artist and auteur, David Lynch, offer a more unique convergence between technology and art.

The BeoPlay M5 is delivered in special edition packaging and covered with the artwork by David Lynch, including a signature laser engraved on the top of M5.

The latest collaboration may come as a surprise amongst those who missed his initial partnership with luxe Danish electronics brand, Bang & Olufsen. The newly announced Beoplay P2 and M5 speakers, joining the more exclusive (and expensive) $100,000 Bang & Olufsen Beosound Shape and $5,000 Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A9 Speaker. Like these previous collaborative efforts, the P2 and M5 brings portability with more attainable price tags for Lynchian-lovers.

Each speaker design is covered in images and details from the “War Between the Shapes” series, works on paper created by the iconic artist in the 1970s and from the “Paris Suite” lithographs created in 2007 at the renowned Idem studio.

The $100,000 Bang & Olufsen Beosound Shape splashed with artwork by David Lynch takes advantage of the modular speaker’s expanse and turns a wireless audio system into a genuine piece of art. Only two were made.

Lynch’s previous 2017 collaboration with Bang & Olufsen produced this $5,000 B&O A9 speaker. Only 30 units were produced, each signed and numbered and exclusively sold through the MoMA Design Store.

The special edition David Lynch Beoplay M5 and Beoplay P2 speakers are available in limited quantities at select Bang & Olufsen stores as well as the MoMA Design Store, and at bang-olufsen.com. Just be sure to throw in a copy of David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti’s newly released album, Thought Gang, to make the experience thoroughly immersive.
