Last year we introduced you to AXOR One, a bathroom collection designed to create greater clarity enhanced function, and overall control. The group includes 30+ products that feature slender silhouettes, flat surfaces, soft corners, and balanced proportions. As an extension of AXOR One, the brand has collaborated with British designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby to create a palette of colored faucets and fixtures.
The selected colors are inspired by interactions between light, color, and water: Aquamarine, Coral, Ice, Stone, Shell, and Sand. “Each color balances the ability to become part of a calm visual field with limitless scope for self-expression and individuality, reflecting the way in which bathrooms and small cloakrooms are increasingly becoming places that are less about neutral utility and more about original and impactful design. We chose the colors to complement the widest range of bathroom finishes, from enamel and concrete, to marble and wood,” Barber and Osgerby explain.
These six color additions offer yet another way to personalize a space with character and add an interesting focal point. The blue-green of Aquamarine captures the sea, while Ice’s light, muted blue calls to mind the blues of glaciers. Coral is a warm, red-orange that packs a punch, and Stone references the grey that can be found at the meeting point of land and sea. A cool, grey-ish pink, Shell is quiet and delicate. Lastly, Sand mimics the color of a wet shoreline.
“Edward and Jay curated these colors for us to evoke specific aspects of water in relation to the earth and the sky. The palette draws on the designers’ observation that color often increases in vibrancy and intensity when seen through water, and it reflects the design brand’s elemental connection to nature through water,” says Anke Sohn, Head of Global Brand Marketing AXOR.
The selected fixtures in the collection have a gloss finish, like a layer of water. It reflects its surrounding and provides the easily cleanable surfaces necessary in a bathroom. The new colors are available for pre-order via AXOR Signature service.
