Basket Marks LAYER’s Third Collaboration with Fritz Hansen

Basket is the latest design from Benjamin Hubert’s design studio LAYER and it marks the third collaboration with Danish brand Fritz Hansen. Basket comes together using two wood technologies the historic brand is known for, including steam bending and press laminating. The multipurpose design can be used to hold magazines, papers, books, shoes, cushions, or even wood, as it sits next to a chair or fireplace.

The handy carrying handle, which extends down to become feet to keep it stable, is made from solid steam-bent wood , while the gently curved basket is made of pressed laminated wood. Basket comes in three different finishes – natural oak, natural walnut, and stained oak.

The Fritz Hansen product is part of their home accessories collection and took six months to develop and officially launched in Milan at Salone del Mobile 2018.
