Belvedere Residence by Anastasia Arquitetos

Located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, the Belvedere Residence occupies a majority of the flat lot it sits on. It was designed by Anastasia Arquitetos to blend the indoor/outdoor areas seamlessly and to create an expansive feel. The design of the house is rectangular in shape and divided between two levels to give the feeling of more space.

The house is well lit throughout due to large doors on the front and back, some sliding glass and some wood that pivots open. They also provide cross ventilation when needed. Frosted glass panels on the second level give light to both floors while preventing the heat from direct sunlight. The exposed concrete was originally a structural choice but it offers an aesthetic quality throughout, as well as a sense of cohesion.

One cool feature is the indoor garden that receives light through a glass cover.
