This new furniture collection by Italian designer Mario Alessiani proves that you can find inspiration anywhere, even in the smallest of things like rings!
Inspired by diamond settings, Alessiani designed Carati, a collection of tables whose wood tabletops are fitted onto iron metal structures, similar to how a precious stone is fitted onto rings. The uniqueness of this design is that the plane of the table is supported horizontally by the legs of the table. In everyday tables, the design is reversed where the plane is supported vertically by the legs.
Needless to say, the design of Carati (which means “carats” in Italian) is one that mimics precious jewelry: simple and elegant.
