CES 2021: LG Furniture Concept Appliances Introduces Mix & Match Customization

A lot has been written about the kitchen’s return as the hearth of the home, and a validation of the ongoing trend is the increasing attention of design and decor in kitchen appliance design. LG’s Furniture Concept Appliances collection builds upon the momentum from breaking away from the tired cliché of all stainless steel finishes with a colorful palette with the option for mix-and-match customization

LG’s Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, describes the Furniture Concept Appliances as a “stylish amalgamation of furniture and high-performance home solutions.” And indeed, the colors previewed are evocative of offerings from the likes of Scandinavian home and furnishing brands like Marimekko and HAY rather than the staid industrial options traditionally associated with residential kitchen design.

The collection includes the InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator, Fridge and Freezer pair, microwave, dishwasher, water purifier, WashTower and Styler, with multiple combinations of materials and colors offered allowing buyers the ability to harmonize the kitchen to other living spaces.

LG has yet to release pricing and availability, but we expect additional information to be announced in the days following CES.

The collection mixes materials such as stainless steel, glass and metal, alongside FENIX, an opaque coated finish engineered to resist fingerprints.

With this year’s CES hosted virtually, LG’s virtual exhibition booth at CES invites attendees to preview LG Furniture Concept Appliances in a virtual living space.
