Chopula by Dreamfarm

Dreamfarm, makers of our favorite tap water drinking fountain Tapi, are back with a great new product — Chopula. And, we’re not the only one who loves them — Chopula has been awarded the Red Dot Design Award for Households and Kitchens for 2011.

Chopula is a spatula that is able to hover off the surface of your counter and can easily chop foods in your frying pan. A lot of thought has been put into the design of this kitchen tool. First, the handle has been positioned off center, so you can keep your hand away from the heat source. This also allows for a more comfortable chopping angle.

The “corners” of the head are purposefully rounded to allow you to get around the edges of a circular pan, which — if you have ever tried with a regular spatula — is nearly impossible. Most spatulas are either too rigid or too flexible, but Chopula has found a balance between the two. It has a slight bow in its head which means that in one direction it’s extremely sturdy and great for chopping up food in a pad, but in the other it’s flexible and thin enough to pick up the most fragile of foods, like eggs. It’s also made from nylon so it can be used safely on non-stick surfaces. Combine all of that with the bent handle keeping your countertop clean and you’ve got yourself a sit up chopping spatula — a Chopula.
