Gabe Brown’s Abstract Landscapes

Artist Gabe Brown, who we discovered online through one of our go-to galleries, Kenise Barnes Fine Art in Larchmont, NY, is the daughter of creative parents and thus never considered an alternative career. After attending Cooper Union in NYC for her Bachelor’s, she hopped across the country to earn an MFA at University of California, Davis. We love her punchy color and blend of geometric forms with swirling, whimsical movements. Her depictions of landscapes are reality-based, but fantastical in their color interpretations and and collage-like mix of shapes. The trio of paintings we chose for today’s CMYLK were especially fun for which to create palettes in Colourlovers.
