Whether it’s for a playroom, loft, or kid’s bedroom, the choices for ladders is pretty limited to just the basics. But sometimes, the basics don’t fit into the vision for a playful space that a child would want to spend time in. Alegre Industrial Studio merged functionality, simplicity, and fun into these three ladder designs, called KidsLofty, for Japanese company Katzden Architec LTD. Japanese homes are more likely to have ladders for loft spaces so they were looking of a new direction when it came to ladders, so now there’s Snake, Square, and the Tube. Yes, these ladders look super fun and playful, but don’t worry, they all measure up to the strictest safety standards possible.
Snake combines two ladders to create a colorful ladder with no sharp corners or edges.
Square is much more minimalist and does away with the traditional aligned rungs. Available in red, white, and dark grey.
The Tube almost looks like vertebrae of a spine with its yellow and black vertical design. The top features a cage to prevent falls.
