The Cut Chair by Peter Bristol looks like a sketchy place to sit, but in fact is an optical illusion that provides a stable seat.
A plate concealed by a thick carpet allows a robust cantilevered seat. Three well placed leg “stumps” and the chair looks as though it has just been magically sliced apart.

Fun design, but not an optical illusion. The mind is seeing what most of us would agree is actually there, a chair supported by one leg. Though the support structure is not visible, there is only one leg supporting the seat.

Wow, die Täuschung ist echt gut gemacht! Vielleicht sollte ich mir auch so einen Stuhl bauen.
