Dematerialization is a new furniture and lighting collection from Georgian designer Ia Kutateladze. Each piece has an interesting twist by juxtaposing two different materials next to each other. It studies the contrast created by placing refined, artisan woodworking next to easy, simple, and cheap materials.
By doing so, Ia Kutateladze creates a vivid contrast that provokes contemplation of polar opposites; elaborate or simple, recycled or wasted, effortless or intricate. It further examines the issues of wanting versus needing, and the psychology behind that circle of thought.
