Designer Timo Niskanen Launches a New Finnish Lighting Brand

Designer Timo Niskanen has launched a new Finnish lighting brand, called HIMMEE, and released 8 new products out of the gate. Their goal? To produce high quality lighting for lovers of design. They focus on quality and design, rather than cranking out a high quantity. The fixtures evoke a Scandinavian feel and are made from materials, like wood, glass, concrete, and aluminum.

Toad & Toad 1UP Table Lamps have a handblown opal glass shade, an oak wood base, and a textile-coated cable. Available in two sizes and the base comes in natural oak or black oak. The name? It comes from Super Mario’s mushroom friend, Toad, and the lamp is a helpless creature that “shines its innocence around”.

The Filly Family comes in three styles – a table lamp and two floor lamps. Made from a concrete base, an oak stem, and a faceted aluminum shade, which comes in either dark grey or white. The lamps resemble a stick horse, hence the Filly name.

The Lento Pendant Family gives off direct and diffused light with its handblown opal glass diffuser and changeable aluminum shade. Available in three different lamps, the pendants mimic flying saucers and were inspired by old UFO cartoons and toys.
