DFTS Factory Launches with the Cap Stool

Summer 2010 sees the launch of the new stool, Cap, the first release from DFTS Factory, the design and manufacturing company forged from the embers of one of Sweden’s most active underground design pairings, Don’t Feed The Swedes. This clever new design collective seems like they’re ready to make their mark. I’m curious to see what else they come up with.

Cap is a tribute piece to the personalities and culture of graffiti. Its iconic oversized spray can nozzle is instantly recognizable and yet, taken out of context, can take on many forms and identities depending on where it sits. Made from sturdy plastic, Cap is made to take a lifetime of abuse or indeed love but can be fully recycled if your passion for art wavers.

“Cap is as much a stamp of belief and identity as it is a piece of furniture. It’s made for lovers of one of the world’s most progressive forms of personal expression,” says DFTS co-founder Andreas Aaltonen. “The nozzle is essential to graffiti artists. It’s a tool, a carrier, a way of getting your message across. With Cap we want to give people another way to get the message across, that you share our love for this artform, yet convey that feeling in a more permanent way,” adds Gustaf Kjellin, DFTS co-founder.
