Dove House by Gundry & Ducker

The Dove House is a modern extension project that was done by the architecture firm of Gundry & Ducker. The new structure was added to a Victorian terraced house in West London with a dark and narrow kitchen. The new structure is covered in black stained larch, which is quite the opposite of the now white-walled interior. The kitchen cabinets and fixtures are black, which ties everything together.

Now a light-filled monochromatic space with polished concrete floors, the new kitchen and family area contrast the colors and style of the original structure, yet it works. See that structure in the back that looks like the new extension? It’s a miniature playhouse made just for the kids!

The pitched roof features skylights that fill the space with light.

I love the new bathroom!

The transition from old to new.
