Dror for Tumi

Talk about traveling with style… Dror Benshetrit has teamed up with luggage maker Tumi on a new collection of luggage and travel bags that are simply stunners.

The result of 18 months of research and design is a hefty collection consisting of a backpack, briefcase, messenger bag, crossbody bag, expandable carry-on, four-wheeled suitcase, travel satchel and travel kit. Dror and Tumi reimagined Tumi’s signature ballistic textile, developing a new weave that creates a modern, elegant look yet still maintains the high-performance quality of the original.

Dror also reimagined Tumi’s iconic leather patch, creating a new faceted panel that follows the architecture of the entire collection. I’m loving the details of these pieces and you might call them a bit manly but I can easily see me rocking these in an airport with no questions asked. I’m not sure which piece is my favorite, but I love the idea of an expandable zipper-less hard case carry-on. The two-wheeled case allows for four different size options through a two-stage expansion via a “living hinge,” which makes it possible to adjust the bag’s depth and double its overall capacity. Bonus!

You can see this new collection in person at MOST in Milan (Museum of Science and Technology) during Salone del Mobile or, if you’re like me, and stuck at home during Salone, you can see the entire collection at drorfortumi.com.
