Dwell on Design 2013 Exclusive House Tour: Atwater Crossing Residence

First up on the East Side & Downtown Home Tour 2013, part of the Dwell Home Tours, is the Atwater Crossing Residence. The LEED certified home is part of a 28-house complex designed by architect Charles Kluger in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Atwater Village.

Owned by interior designer David Mast, who also tricked out the 2,419-square-foot, two-bedroom residence, the three-story structure comes complete with a roof deck that gives panoramic views of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Each of the 28 houses is built of concrete, steel, and glass, and uses a “Curtain wall” form of construction.

Rich tones of brown and gray are used throughout the interior helping to warm up the industrial aspects of the space.

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the interior with light, making the space feel larger.
