We’re finishing up the East side tour today with this cozy Echo Park home by Nicholas/Budd Architects.
From the architects:
The Kameon/Otsea house was a single story painting studio that was converted into a two story single family residence. The large open studio space was maintained as the main room of the house, and includes the kitchen, large dining area and living room, with huge sliding glass doors opening directly into the garden. The second floor has light filled rooms for sleeping, bathing and dressing, and a small shared office. Each room looks into the canopy of a large tree, and there is a lovely view of the neighboring hillside bordering Chavez Ravine.
This house ends our East side tour and stay tuned tomorrow and Thursday for two fantastic West side homes!

I couldn’t attend Dwell on Design this year, but I was lucky enough to be able to secure a few photographers to capture some of the house tours. You can see the rest of our exclusive Dwell on Design 2010 house tours here.
