The next stop on the Dwell on Design Prefab Home Tour is the Palms Residence in Venice, California. The 2,800-square-foot house was designed by Marmol Radziner Prefab and is composed of 14 modules. The exterior is clad in dark cedar siding with various techniques like louvered panels used to provide shelter and privacy.

Even though the house is located on a narrow lot, it’s quite spacious and still manages to have a small courtyard and covered deck space. It feels completely private, right?

On the south side of the house, large glass walls provide lots of natural light.

How’s that for visual interest?

We didn’t attend Dwell on Design this year, but DoD was generous enough to photograph the homes on the tour exclusively for Design Milk. Make sure to check out all of the 2012 Dwell on Design house tours here.
