F Residence by GOSIZE

F Residence is a minimalist house located in Hyogo, Japan, designed by GOSIZE. The project is a combined office and residence situated within a beautiful natural setting selected as one of Japan’s best viewing sites for cherry blossoms.

The architects wanted to maintain a modest exterior that would blend into the environment. This sensibility is reflected within the interior with the use of natural materials and blank spaces. The result is an ambiguous boundary between the interior and outside spaces.

The tiled entryway, also knowns doma, features double-height ceilings that open inward onto a private courtyard. The space becomes increasingly connected to the outside as one moves upward.
